The ML ⇌ Science Colaboratory is
The ml ⇌ science colab is a core facility of the Cluster of Excellence Machine Learning: new Perspectives for Science. We are affiIiated with the CS Wilhelm-Schickard-Institute for Computer Science at the University of Tübingen
With our activities ranging from applied ML research to training through hands-on collaborations with scientists, we strive to support the goals of the cluster:
To enable machine learning to take a central role in all aspects of scientific discovery and to understand how such a transformation will impact the scientific approach as a whole.
#thatsmyscience: ML - New Perspectives for Science
New technologies in artificial intelligence and machine learning will change the world in the decades to come. These breakthroughs have led to algorithms being able to perform ever more complex tasks. The new Cluster of Excellence "Machine Learning - New Perspectives for Science" will deal with developments that can fundamentally change the process of scientific discovery.
The rise of "intelligent" technology is transforming engineering, industry and the economy at an increasing pace and on an unprecedented scale. At the core of this revolution are breakthroughs in the field of machine learning which allow machines to perform tasks that, until recently, could only be performed by humans.
The ml ⇌ science colab is part of the thriving AI research and application ecosystem in Tübingen, which includes the University and the Max Planck for Intelligent Systems.
We work with ML researchers all across Tübingen to help domain specialists across the natural sciences, the social sciences, and the humanities in the University of Tübingen.
Tuebingen Research Campus
Tuebingen is a research city. One of Germany's oldest and most renowned universities and a wide range of top-level research institutes, including several institutions of the Max Planck Society, the Leibniz Association and the Helmholtz Association, are located here. Together, they make Tuebingen an ideal place for science and research.
Tübingen is an international hotspot for machine learning research. It terms of academic research the two major players are the University of Tübingen and the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems. The University of Tübingen and the Max Planck Institute collaborate in many initiatives, for example: Cyber Valley, which brings together international key players from science and industry to concentrate their research activities in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
