We hosted researchers from physics, geosciences, economics, psychology, archaeology, genetics, rhetoric, and more for our first Introduction to Machine Learning workshop. Topics covered included machine learning paradigms, with a focus on supervised learning, examples of ML in science, and practical ML. We wrapped up with a few participants presenting their own research questions and data to the group, followed by a discussion of data modalities, evaluation metrics, appropriate machine learning paradigms, and potential models. We’re looking forward to hearing more from this talented group of people!
